Privacy Policy

Interformat is built so that your files never leave your device. This page explains exactly what that means, and the little that does touch a network.

Last updated October 4, 2026

Your files stay on your device They are opened and processed by code running in your browser. They are never uploaded.
No accounts, analytics, ads or cookies We don’t track what you do or which tools you use.
Your settings stay in your browser You can clear them at any time from Settings.

Who we are

Interformat is made by Intercepth (intercepth.dev). You can reach us at [email protected].

Your files

When you open, drop or paste a file into Interformat, your browser reads it into memory on your device. All processing (compressing, converting, resizing, reading metadata and everything else) happens there, using JavaScript, WebAssembly and Web Workers.

Interformat has no server that receives files. The website is a set of static files: once they have loaded, the app does not send your files, their names, their contents or their metadata anywhere. Results are saved straight from your browser to your device.

What is stored on your device

To make the app work, some data is kept in your browser’s own storage on your device:

  • Preferences, such as theme and default tool settings.
  • Presets you save.
  • History, if you turn it on: file names, sizes and settings used. Never the files themselves.
  • App files cached so Interformat works offline.
  • Optional modules, such as extra codecs or on-device AI models, only after you choose to download them.

This data never leaves your device and we cannot see it. You can remove it from Settings, or by clearing site data in your browser.

What our hosting provider sees

Interformat is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any website, when your browser downloads the app, Cloudflare handles technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the address requested and the time, in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not add analytics or tracking on top of this. Cloudflare’s handling of this data is described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Optional modules (like codecs and AI models) are downloaded from this same site, only when you ask for them. Downloading a module sends no information about your files.

Third parties

Ko-fi. The Support page can show a Ko-fi panel for donations. Nothing from Ko-fi loads until you press “Load Ko-fi”. After that, and for any donation you make, Ko-fi’s privacy policy applies.

Links. Links to other websites (such as intercepth.dev or the source code on GitHub) are ordinary links. Those sites have their own policies.

Cookies

Interformat does not set cookies. Our hosting provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it detects unusual traffic.

See it for yourself

The numbers below update live. Open a file in any tool and come back: they won’t change because of your files.

Live network activity

Requests from this page App code, fonts and icons from this site 0
Requests to other servers None
Connection Online
Open a file and watch these numbers: processing adds no requests. This counter sees requests made by this page; your browser’s developer tools (Network tab) show everything, including workers. You can also switch off your connection and keep working.

Children

Interformat does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country).

Your rights

Because we don’t collect personal data, we hold nothing about you to access, correct or delete. Data stored on your device is under your control. If you have a question about privacy, email [email protected].

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how your files are handled, it will be clearly announced in the app before it takes effect.
