About this tool
Turn text into a clean, paginated PDF: paste it, type it, or open a .txt or .md file. Choose a font, size, line spacing, page size, orientation and margins, and switch on Markdown to get headings, bullet and numbered lists, bold and italic, links, quotes, code blocks and tables laid out properly. Plain text can have line numbers, which suits code and logs.
The pages you see in the preview are the pages you get. Long lines are wrapped, and the text is set in the standard PDF fonts, so the file is small and opens everywhere.
Everything is done in your browser and nothing is uploaded. The standard fonts cover Western European languages; characters outside them, such as Chinese, Cyrillic or emoji, are replaced with “?” and the result tells you how many. For other scripts, take a screenshot and use Images to PDF.
How do I convert a text file or Markdown to PDF?
Open the file here (or paste its text). Switch on Markdown for a .md file, adjust the page settings and download the PDF. The preview shows the finished pages.
Which Markdown features are supported?
Headings, paragraphs, bold, italic, inline code, links, bullet and numbered lists, block quotes, code blocks, horizontal rules and simple tables. Images are replaced by their alt text.
Why do some characters turn into question marks?
The built-in PDF fonts cover Western European languages only. Characters from other scripts and emoji can’t be drawn with them, so they are replaced with “?” and counted in the result.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The PDF is built inside your browser, so private notes and documents stay on your device.
