About this tool
Browser extensions need icons at several sizes for different places: the toolbar, the extensions page, the install dialog and the store listing. Pick the browsers you publish to and Interformat makes every size they ask for, with the icons and action blocks for manifest.json.
Toolbar icons are only 16 px, where fine detail turns to mush. Add a simpler version of your logo and it is used for the small sizes only. Previews show the toolbar at actual size in light and dark, and a check tells you if the icon blends into either.
The 128 px icon follows the Chrome Web Store guideline of 96 px artwork with transparent padding, so it lines up with other listings.
Can I use SVG icons in an extension?
Firefox and Safari accept SVG; Chrome and Edge need PNG. The package includes both when you start from an SVG.
Do the store requirements change?
Sometimes. The sizes here follow each browser’s documentation as of 2026; check the store’s current guidelines before publishing.
