About this tool
See an icon where people will actually meet it: in light and dark browser tabs and the bookmarks bar, on iPhone and Android home screens, in the macOS Dock and on the Windows taskbar, all at their real pixel sizes.
Icon files with several sizes inside, like .ico and .icns, are shown with their own image at each size, exactly as an operating system picks them. Everything else is scaled the way browsers scale it, so you can judge whether you need a hand-made small version.
A check looks for problems you would otherwise only notice after shipping: artwork that blends into dark tabs or the taskbar, outlines that blur at 16 px, too much empty space, transparency iOS will fill with black and corners that round masks will cut.
Why does iOS show my icon with a black background?
Home screen icons can’t be transparent on iOS. Transparent areas of an apple-touch-icon are drawn black, so give that icon a solid background.
